Four boys — one as young as 12 — were rescued by raids were conducted in commercial establishments in the State of Tamil Nadu in India. The 12-year-old worked in a bakery, a 15-year-old boy in a gas station, and the two 16-year olds in motor mechanic shop.  The raids occurred on September 22, 24, 29 and 30.  The raids were instigated as a result of an investigation by our program partner the Bachpan Bachao Andolan, which lodged a complaint that the commercial enterprises were employing minors in hazardous work in violation of the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.  The raid was led by the police, labor inspectors and the Bachpan Bachao Andolan.
