March 25, 2024.   International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.  On December 17, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly designated 25 March as an annual International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade,
beginning in 2008, as a complement to the existing International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition of the United Nations
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.  The date is based on the date of the anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade.
