October 20, 2023. 76th Anniversary of the Protocol amending the 1921 and 1933 Trafficking Conventions approved by the United Nations General Assembly on October 20, 1947. It amended the International Convention of 30 September 1921 for the Suppression of the Traffic in Women and Children and the International Convention of 11 October 1933 for the Suppression of the Traffic in Women of Full Age. These were League of Nations conventions. Following the dissolution of the League of Nations, the Protcol transferred those two conventions to the United Nations. They were later replaced by the Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others 1949, which is still in force.
