On March 15, 2022, children aged 9 to 15 years of age were rescued from a toy factory in the Bawana Industrial Area in the north of Delhi in India.
A total of 73 children — 38 girls and 35 boys — were rescued from a toy factory and polish manufacturing and fan manufacturing factories in the area. Many were not allowed to leave the factory. They worked for 15 hours a day in unsafe conditions.
Most of the children are from Utter Pradesh and Bihar, with a few from Delhi.
They were lured by traffickers visiting their villages with promises of a job and a good wage, but they found they were trapped in bonded labor.
